International Mud Month happens in June and is a global movement which aims to encourage children and early childhood professionals to celebrate nature by getting outdoors to play in glorious gooey mud. Given that International Mud Month happens in Winter in Australia there is usually plenty of mud around.
For the past few years we have celebrated with a few mud days. It has been very successful ... so we will do it again this year! Outdoors we will be making clay sculptures & using our mud kitchen to make mudpies, mud-stews and potions. We will be playing with ‘edible’ mud inside and some various other messy activities. Most importantly, we remind you to dress your children in old clothes so they can enjoy the freedom of playing with mud.
